Interactive whiteboards and learning centres
Presenter: Louise Hedley
| In 2005 Louise undertook a research fellowship and travelled to the United Kingdom to investigate the use of interactive whiteboards in classrooms. Since completing the fellowship she has undertaken the roles of IWB coordinator and ICT coordinator, leading two schools through full installation and implementation of the boards. During her time teaching with the boards, she has focused on developing independent activities that can be used by small groups during learning centres, as she wanted to maximize the use of the boards. This has also led her to creating planning documents to assist with the use and implementation of the IWBs. I have presented workshops for AISV, IWBNet and MAV on ways that IWBs can be exploited during Literacy and Numeracy Learning Centres and throughout all subject areas.
